As one of the most valuable partners of the Olympic Movement, FINA and the World's Aquatics Community celebrate today the 70th anniversary of Olympic Day.

Every year June 23 is an occasion which is much more than just a sports event. It is a day that celebrates the Olympic values, which FINA shares and applies across its core activities.
It is also an opportunity to praise and pay tribute to all the athletes past, present and in the coming around the world.

The International Olympic Committee is celebrating this year's Olympic Day through a campaign called United By. This campaign will bring together stories, experiences and events of Olympism from across the world and combine them with content created centrally, building a unified celebration of Olympic ideas and values. The campaign officially launched on 8 June with the #UnitedBy Olympism video (see below) which celebrates the power of the Olympic values - Excellence, Friendship and Respect - in every part of life to deliver a better world now and for generations to come.

Swimming sensation Chad Le Clos (RSA) has been announced as an ambassador for the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 for the second time (after Nanjing 2014)

The IOC says that the video seeks to define Olympism and to highlight that it is more than the Games, and more than Olympians. It is a philosophy of life that brings together sport, culture and education for the benefit of humanity.

United By also shows the world the role that the Olympic Movement can play in opening the door to peace, and how sport can build bridges and bring people together.
